An insider posted on Sina Weibo that there is a new MEIZU smartphone powered by 8890, and he is pretty sure for this. The 8890 means Samsung Exynos 8890 processor. And then two comments followed up. One doubts if Exynos 8890 supports China Telecom. And the other responds that why should flagship smartphone support all China’s carriers and waits for China Telecom to give up CDMA.

MEIZU used to adopt MediaTek processor on its flagship smartphones, and it looks like MEIZU is going to change his strategy by replacing it with Samsung processor. Maybe MEIZU fans are happy to see this, probably because MediaTek processor is not fast enough enough – an impression of low end image.

Another insider leaked information of MEIZU’s internal market plan which mentions rolling out a smartphone powered by Samsung Exynos 8890 in the given timeframe and beforehand prepare the production plan for other suppliers and make sure the production amount of new models. It also mentions lowering the order amount of MEIZU Pro 6 and increasing the order amount of Blue Charm 3 and Blue Charm Note 3 and at some point lowering the price of Blue Charm Note 3 and MEIZU Pro 6 to boost sales and finish the annual year plan in time.

Though the new MEIZU smartphone’s name is unknown, the inside source still leaks information saying MEIZU could roll out MEIZU Pro 6 Plus and MEIZU Pro 6 Edge in September 2016. These names suggests a bar phone and a curved phone. Except MEIZU, Xiaomi is also rumored to release a new smartphone with dual curved sides. As more and more China’s smartphone makers start to roll out smartphones with curved display, they are ready to compete with Samsung, and this suggest smartphones with curved display is pretty welcome by consumers.

The MEIZU Pro 6 Plus is said to have a brand new designed metal chassis, 5.7 inches touch screen of 2K pixel resolution, a 2.5D rounded glass, Samsung touch panel and 64GB Rom. The MEIZU Pro 6 Plus Edge has a glass body with dual curved glass and a metal frame. The display resolution is 2K pixel on a 5.7 inches screen, and the Rom expands to 128GB.

Both MEIZU Pro 6 Plus and MEIZU Pro 6 Plus Edge are rumored to power Samsung Exynos 8890 CPU, to house a 3500mAh battery, to support fast charging. Coming to the cameras, nothing leaked out yet. The MEIZU Pro 6 Plus is rumored to be priced at 2799 Yuan ($430) and the MEIZU Pro 6 Plus Edge at 3499 Yuan ($538).
