Huawei announces a brand new smartphone Mate 9 Lite at a low key

Huawei officially released the brand new flagship’s  Chinese Edition of Huawei Mate 9 in Shanghai on November 14, 2016. But only a few days later, Huawei silently announces one more brand new smartphone called Mate 9 Lite, which should be a simplied version of Mate 9 and has already showed up on Huawei’s official website. Just the pricing and the availability is not disclosed yet, but the specifications is announced.

This brand new Huawei Mate 9 Lite, as the name suggests, features the same design style; has a size of 150.9mm×76.2mm×8.2mm; equips a 5.5″ 1080p display with a 2.5D glass on forefront; and powers Hisilicone Kirin 655 Octa Core CPU clocked at 2.1GHz coupled with 3GB Ram and 32GB/64GB Rom.

The Huawei Mate 9 Lite still has dual lenses on the back, but without Leica logo any more. The dual lenses are 12MP and 2MP respectively, and supports PDAF. A 8MP front camera can shoot great selfie photo. A 3340mAh battery provides long battery life.

Huawei Mate 9 Lite runs EMUI 4.1 OS on top of Android 6.0, while Huawei Mate 9 runs EMUI 5.0 on top of Android 7.0 OS.

As introduced at the begining, the pricing and availability of Huawei Mate 9 Lite is unknown yet, while Huawei Mate 9 gets on sale already.
